econsult >Coronavirus Patient Notice  - Last updated 30.3.2020

From Monday 16/03/2020 we will be changing our appointment system

This is in line with many other GP practices in the area and is to protect our patients and staff from Covid 19, Coronavirus

All patients will need to discuss their need for an appointment with a Doctor

If you need a routine appointment phone after 8.30am, Keep trying through the morning and afternoon if you cannot get through on your first few tries, we have tripled the number of phone lines and are dealing with an unprecedented number of calls. If you need an appointment you will be given a time a doctor will phone you back the same morning.  The receptionist will need to know your phone number and the reason for your call.

If you need an urgent appointment please phone as early as possible in the day, you can phone from 8am.  This helps us manage our workload better.  The receptionist will need to know your phone number and the reason for your call.

We will try your number twice, 1 minute apart.  If you do not answer we will not keep trying you will need to phone back for a new appointment.

We have the facility to do both phone appointments and video call appointments and the majority of problems can be safer managed this way. Whsilt this is different to our usual way of working it is for your safety and to stop us getting sick so there is no one left to help you.

We have decide for the time being until the situation is calmer and clearer to cancel a number of services including Joint Injections, Implants, Coils, Private Medicals, Learning Disability Reviews, Medication Reviews, Smears and Blue Med Reviews and diabetic clinics.

Asthma and COPD clinics will be carried out by phone.

Walk in family planning clinic patients will now be phone triaged first.  If you need an appointment in our family planning clinic, phone and ask to be added to the family planning triage list and you will be phoned back by our nurse.

When the situation is calmer and more clear we will make plenty of these appointments available, so please keep an eye on our website.

Please be aware we cannot carry out Coronavirus testing.

Whatever your appointment is for, whether it is with a nurse or a Doctor DO NOT come to the surgery if you have a temperature, cough, breathing difficulties or are concerned you may have Corona Virus or have had symptoms in the previous 7 days or are in a self isolating household due to symptoms.

We hope to have e consult available in the coming week. Please leave our phone lines as free as possible for people who are ill at the moment, the elderly, and vulnerable.

In view of the current Coronavirus pandemic we are changing our repeat prescribing arrangements in line with other local practices.

When you request your next repeat prescription you will be issued prescription(s) to cover the next 3 months.  The chemist is unlikely to issue the entire 3 month supply to you but you will not need to contact the surgery for a further prescription within this time.

Routine medication reviews are currently suspended.

WE WILL CONTINUE TO ISSUE YOUR PRESCRIPTION until such time as the situation becomes clearer.  You will not need to attend the surgery for routine face to face review or annual screening tests during this suspension.

Repeat prescriptions will be sent to your usual nominated pharmacy in the normal way.

Please nominate a chemist at the time of requesting your repeat prescription if you haven't already done so.
