Covid 19 Patient Notice - Last updated 16/04/2021
As you are aware the last few months during the COVID-19 Pandemic have been very challenging for everyone.
Firstly we would like to thank everyone for their patience and support during this unprecedented time.
The safety of our staff and all our patients remains our prime concern, and as you are no doubt aware we have had to make changes to the way we offer our services during the recent months, being responsive to both patient and staff needs.
As lockdown slowly eases strict social distancing still remains paramount and outlined below is a reminder on how we currently provide our services:
- If you wish to make an appointment with a GP please visit our website where you will be able to access a consultation through “econsult”. Here, you will be able to give your details with a summary of your medical condition, and a clinician will then call you back or conduct a Video consultation within 24 hours. If it is felt you need to be seen face-to face, you will be given an appointment time to come to the surgery.
- On arrival please use our main door where you will be able to speak to our reception staff via intercom which is located in our foyer.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST STICK TO THE ALLOCATED APPOINTMENT TIME AS YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO WAIT IN OUR WAITING AREA AND WILL HAVE TO REMAIN OUTSIDE (adhering to social distancing rules) UNTIL INVITED IN.
- If you have an appointment and will be entering the surgery we would kindly request that you wear a facial covering. We have attached a link below showing how one of these can be made at home
How to make a cloth face mask https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=97&v=zWTxGqX0ksQ&feature=emb_logo
We are well aware that not everyone will have access to social media or our website. Therefore we would be extremely grateful if you could pass on to family and friends, that if patients are unable to access an appointment on econsult they are still able to contact the surgery by telephone and a GP will then call them back.
We would also like to emphasise that whilst we are operating differently we are open and here for you if you need us.
Please be aware we cannot carry out Coronavirus testing.
Whatever your appointment is for, whether it is with a nurse or a Doctor DO NOT come to the surgery if you have a temperature, cough, breathing difficulties or are concerned you may have Corona Virus or have had symptoms in the previous 7 days or are in a self isolating household due to symptoms.
Please Note - Patients with Coronavirus Symptoms should ring 119 (not 111) for a COVID test
Patients who require an exemption certificate for facemasks, please go to the Welsh Government website for further information https://gov.wales/coronavirus
FOR FAMILY PLANNING CLINIC PLEASE SEE THE LINK BELOW IN FURTHER INFORMATION

Why you should have a flu vaccine this year. From 1st December 2020, everyone aged 50 to 64 in Wales is eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine at their GP surgery or community pharmacy. This includes those who will reach the age of 50 before 31st March 2021.
Flu can be serious for some people, and as we get older our risks of complications if we catch flu increase. This winter, flu and COVID-19 (coronavirus) are likely to both be in circulation, so it is especially important that as many people as possible have a flu vaccine to protect themselves.
Annual flu vaccination is one of the best ways to protect against catching or spreading flu. To help protect more people from flu this year, additional groups are now eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine -this includes everyone aged 50-64. Demand for flu vaccination has been high this year, but additional flu vaccines were ordered for Wales and these extra flu vaccines are now available. This means that people in this age group can now have a free NHS flu vaccine at their GP surgery or community pharmacy. Additional infection prevention and control measures are taking place in GP surgeries and community pharmacies to help keep people safe, and this may mean appointments take slightly longer than usual. GP surgeries and community pharmacies everywhere are experiencing lots of enquiries, and some people are being asked to wait longer than usual for an appointment. GP surgeries and community pharmacies are working hard to offer vaccinations as soon as they are able. Please be patient if you are asked to wait.
